 What a great weekend! With beautiful weather all four days and over 3, 200 Hot Rod, Street Machines, Muscle Cars, Trick trucks and more cruisin the streets of Ocean City fun was had by all the at the 21st Annual Cruisin Ocean City May 19-20-21-22, 2011. A special thanks to all the participants, sponsors and spectators for making it possible.

Lots of car shows and entertainment took place at the Convention Center Parking Lot and the Inlet Parking Lot, plus several more car shows took place at various business locations in Ocean City and West Ocean City. Over the four days there were more than 400 awards given out that were selected by various businesses, town representatives, community leaders, event sponsors and others.

We were happy to have some of the top national names in the country on display at Manufacturer Midway located at the Inlet including AAA Mid-Atlantic, Billet Specialties, Bimbos Xtreme, Flaming River, Flowmaster Exhausts, GM Performance Division, Jasper Engines & Transmissions, K&N Engineering, Meguiar's, Miller Electric, Performance Automatic, PPG Industries, Prestolite Performance, Slide-Lok, Speed by Spectre, Summit Racing and Tremec Transmissions. Others that were showcased at the Convention Center include Uncommon Flagpole, Capital Renegade and more.

Our special guest this year was Danielle from American Pickers. Danielle was a blast to work with Saturday and Sunday, signing autographs, posing for pictures, plus meeting and greeting tons of fans who came out to see her. We even got her up on stage Sunday to sign a banner that was auctioned off, raising $1,100 for the American Cancer Society.

Summit Racing Equipment was on site to debut it's brand new Summit Racing Power Experience virtual theatre which puts you in the drivers seat of an NHRA Pro Stock car, a monster truck and a circle car dirt track. With a 12 foot screen and massive 2,000 watt sound system this was something you definitely had to check out.

The morning sunshine was perfect for the Boardwalk Parades held Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings and the weather held out all weekend with only a few sprinkles on Friday evening. The Sunday awards featured more than $1,700 in cash given away as door prizes plus lots of beach bags, coolers and travel bags. More than 300 awards were presented from various sponsors and supporters of the event. We were lucky to have Senator Mathias on hand to present his trophy to the lucky winner. Winners will be posted on the website shortly along with all the trophies that were not picked up.

A great four days of cars, friends, parades, music, give-aways, sponsors and so much more! Hope you'll join us next year for the 22nd Annual Cruisin Ocean City May 17-18-19-20, 2012. Plus don't forget to keep checking back for when Fox Sports network will air highlights from Cruisin 2011 as part of the Mothers Car Show series.

When in Ocean City, Maryland join us by taking a tour of the Life-Saving Station Museum. You'll find captivating exhibits featuring the history of the U.S. Life-Saving Service and Ocean City History. We also have on display a Mermaid Collection, Shipwreck Artifacts, Sands of the World, and Bathing Fashions. Aquariums featuring local marine life are a favorite for young and old alike. There is something here for everyone. The meticulously restored building that was once scheduled for demolition, is now a monument to Ocean City History.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will return to Ocean City in 2012 to headline the OC Air Show! For the first time ever, the OC Air Show will feature two jet demonstration teams with the Black Diamond Jet Team, the premier civilian team in the nation, also performing.

The OC Air Show can be viewed free from the beach. Premium Viewing in the Drop Zone, Clubhouse Chalet and in the rooftop VIP Penthouse on the 10th floor of the Quality Inn are available. All Premium Viewing includes reserved parking for 2012!

The U.S. Navy Seals Leap Frogs will return to Ocean City to jump the American Flag in at show opening and demonstrate some of the most extreme parachute formations you'll ever see! They'll also jump into the official air show hospitality events each night.
2011 Freestyle Aerobatic World Champion Rob Holland and former Red Bull Air Racer Mike Goulian will both perform at the OC Air Show. You see them fly extreme solo routines and then go head-to-head! Check out all the performers that have been announced to date!

The Famous Berlin Bathtub Races take place during Berlin 2nd Friday Art Stroll in July

Since 1992, local businesses have turned ordinary bathtubs into rolling works of art. The friendly, yet competitive race is open to anyone who wants to compete. Businesses are strongly encouraged to participate - it is an excellent way to advertise while having fun at the same time!

Rules:

Bathtubs must be authentic
Wheels may be no larger than 26 inches
Bathtub must have brakes and steering
There must be at least one rider (helmet required)
No more than one person can push (closed toe shoes required)
Bathtub must hold a minimum of 2 gallons of water
There is no limit to the number of wheels
Businesses may advertise on the sides of their bathtub
Besides the illustrious "Winner Takes All" trophy and year-long bragging rights, first place will take home a free banner ad on the Chamber's Website ($400 value).

So pick out your Pit Crew, Driver and Pusher and start building!

There is a $50.00 entry fee per tub, payable via cash, credit or check to the Berlin Maryland Chamber of Commerce.
