Although Ocean City thrives in the summertime from the 4th of July through Labor Day, the "off-season" is also attractive to many, with its more laid-back, subtle pace. Springfest and Sunfest bring tents bursting with crafts, a smorgasbord of food, and live entertainment. Golf, fishing, and cooler days are prominent features in the fall and spring. Ocean City sparkles in the winter with the Winterfest of Lights for the holidays, and the town is decorated from end to end. No matter what time of year you need a break, Ocean City is the perfect getaway for all types of vacationers.

☞ Check out the crafts and entertainment at the Ocean City Springfest. Springfest lasts from Thursday to Sunday in the month of May and is a combination of local culinary delights and shopping. There are tons of activities for kids and adults. Springfest hosts national acts if you want to enjoy music and is a sight to be seen as huge tents take over the entire inlet parking lot!

Ocean City 4th of July celebrations are held in several locations. Come early wherever you decide to see the show. Parking can be a nightmare! Uptown has an all day celebration "Jamboree in the Park" starting at noon. The park is filled with music, crafts, food and entertainment. Fireworks are also held downtown near Caroline Street and include a beach concert. Bring your blanket and watch the ocean sky explode with wonder. Adults can enjoy a private but impressive display from the bayside beach at Seacrets Bar and Grill. Those who choose to stay away from the city crowd can watch local fireworks in the Ocean Pines area. If you are ready to brave the water, boaters can see over six firework displays close up and from a distance anchored in the Isle of Wight and Assawoman bay.

☞ Check out the worlds largest billfish tournament in Ocean City, Maryland. The White Marlin Open hosts over 300 boats competing for huge prize money. Visit Harbor Island and witness the scales as they weigh in shark, tuna, marlin and wahoo. The billfish tournament lasts for several days and the excitement grows each day as anglers compete and battle the weather offshore. Many visitors choose to visit bayside bars and restaurants to see the huge sportfishers arrive from the ocean. Check out Mr. Ducks, The Angler, and the Lazy Lizard for a great view. Another pastime tradition is to arrive before dawn and join the crowd cheering the boats as they leave the inlet on opening morning.

The Sunfest takes place in the inlet parking lot and is a short trip when the weather is not beach worthy!
