The shipwreck museum is on the north edge of Ocean City and is tucked away in Seashell City upstairs. the museum is free and has an impressive display of gold bars, artifacts and a great movie. The museum is illuminated by its display cases giving you the spooky feeling of being in the depths of a pirate ship. Gather your facts for the rest of your journey, you will be surprised how many times you can reference them later in the day!

Delmarva's colorful shipwreck past is being brought vividly back to life again in Fenwick Island, Delaware, in an exciting new exploratory museum appropriately named DiscoverSea Shipwreck Museum. Learn about Spanish, French, British, Irish, and Colonial shipwrecks and lost treasures of history, gold, silver and jewels that lie in briny graves just offshore local beaches waiting to be discovered. Hear about infamous pirates who once roamed Delaware and Maryland beaches and learn about their notorious methods for luring unsuspecting vessels into their clutches. See remnants of lost merchants ships and their passengers' belongings, the coins, and other artifacts that today are washing ashore on local "Coin Beaches". *US NEWS
The Shipwreck Museum is definitely a place worth visiting. We thought it was going to be some rinky dink little thing, but WOW!!! We were blown away. It has actual treasures in it. The owner is a diver and has incredible stuff. AND it is totally FREE!!!!! It is located in Fenwick, Delaware, but just up the road from O.C. Very easy to get to and a short drive. Just look for Sea Shell City and it is upstairs. Now, don't be put off by the looks of Sea Shell City. It is a tourist shop, but once you go upstairs to the museum, you will be very pleased. They don't ask, but you can leave a donation if you want to. This is absolutely a great place for adults, as well as the kids. *Trip Advisor

2nd Stop: Pirates BootyPirate Adventures! |
☞ Set sail on a real pirate boat (Well almost real!) The kids will love this Pirate adventure. It is safe for kids of all ages and is the adventure of a lifetime for the true pirate fan. Captain Ray will be on board, along with a deck hand or two for plenty of revelry. Singing sea chanteys, taking the time-honored oath of loyal sailors,storytelling and a gang effort to find the treasure and fend off other ships is all part of the fun. Plus, each mate and matey will bring home their share of the booty. A great way to get on the water, see the scenes and have fun!
3rd Stop: A Pirates PlateDead Freddies Island Grill |
☞ Dead Freddies Island Grill is a fun family restaurant with a separate play area for children. The play area has a pirate ship to climb on while families relax at nearby tables. A great place to have an outdoor lunch and enjoy nature on the bay.
