Answer
Book Assateague camping as early as the reservation system allows for Ocean City, Maryland summer weekends, holidays, and popular loops. Maryland and Virginia sides use different park systems—know which entrance you want.
Have an Ocean City hotel, condo, or mainland campground backup if Assateague is sold out. Cancellation flexibility helps when storms scrub tent nights.
See Assateague camping FAQ and Assateague camping for packing and bug expectations.
