About this event

The 22nd Annual Marlin Club Kid’s Classic is scheduled July 18–19 under chairmen Brendan Hanley and Pam Hess.

Registration takes place Friday, July 17 from 6–8 p.m., followed by a choice to fish one or both tournament days.

Sunset Marina hosts the July 18–19 weigh-ins from 3–6 p.m., making it the key place to confirm public dock access.

Awards and a Fantasy World Entertainment carnival are planned Sunday at the OCMC clubhouse.

For a family weekend, combine the schedule with events, lodging, and marina planning rather than assuming all club programming is open to visitors.

For angler format notes, target species, and related tournament weekends, open the fishing events & tournaments card.

Quick planning tips

  • Pad marina and Route 50 minutes—tournament weeks compress West Ocean City and inlet corridors.
  • Book lodging early; billfish and tuna weeks stack with summer beach demand.
  • Confirm weigh-in windows and public viewing rules with the host marina before you promise kids a “scale night.”

Top FAQs

Does OCEANCITY.MD sell entries for the Marlin Club Kid’s Classic?
No—register only through the official tournament or host marina channels linked on this page. We publish planning context, not entry desks.
Will this tournament affect my recreational charter day?
Often yes near host docks—weigh-in crowds, trailer traffic, and reserved slips can slow staging. Ask your captain, and keep a non-tournament backup window. See charter trip picker and marinas.
Can a child fish both days?
The published 2026 format allows teams to fish one or two of the two days; confirm participant and division rules with OCMC.
