About this event

The Ward World Championship returns April 24–26, 2026 at the Ocean City Convention Center (4100/4001 Coastal Hwy). Recent public hours: Friday 10 AM–5 PM, Saturday 9 AM–5 PM, Sunday 10 AM–3 PM. It is a premier wildfowl carving competition and art festival with decades of history.

Public show admission has been free in recent materials; workshops, award mixers, and VIP/badge products are separate. Expect quiet judging etiquette, delicate paintwork, and no-flash zones. Many visitors combine with Springfest outdoors—budget walking time between halls and the Inlet.

Organizers have advertised free Convention Center parking for the show—still arrive early on Saturday. Photography rules may restrict flash near competition pieces—obey posted signs.

Quick planning tips

  • Friday is calmer than Saturday for close viewing.
  • Sunday award displays are worth a shorter visit if you only have one morning.
  • Carry a light sweater—convention halls run cold.
