Looking for love · Over 40 · Second chapter from New York
Westchester County, NY Travels in for the trip Marketing consultant · Newly single
Sunset dinners and Boardwalk walks without a kids’ schedule—honest pacing for solo travelers and new couples over 40.
Complete profile
I’m Diana Cole. Westchester County, New York. Marketing consultant. Newly writing the chapter where the itinerary isn’t built around someone else’s soccer schedule.
I’m a traveler, not a condo-every-July fixture—which means I notice what first-timers miss and what repeat visitors forget: Ocean City can be gentle, loud, romantic, or crowded depending on which hour you choose and whether you planned dinner before the universe decided you didn’t need a table.
Why Ocean City
I like Ocean City when it feels like a plot twist: sunset dinners, Boardwalk walks, a hotel that doesn’t smell like a locker room, and nights that end because you’re content—not because a child detonated at the soft-serve window.
What I love: the permission to move slowly. A morning coffee without a departure time. A restaurant where solo diners aren’t treated like a scheduling error. The way the beach looks different when you’re not counting minutes until nap time.
What I dislike: noise that never softens—some venues confuse volume with fun. Restaurants that rush you because they want the table twice. Advice written only for twenty-somethings or nuclear families. Plenty of us arrive over forty—single, newly coupled, or rediscovering the beach on our own terms. We deserve pacing that acknowledges that.
Crowds on event weekends don’t scare me; vague plans do. I’ve learned to book anchors—one dinner, one sunset walk, one lodging choice that doesn’t punish you for arriving tired from the Hutch.
Who I am
I’ve done the family years. Now I travel for me—and sometimes for someone new. I’m honest about crowds, pacing, and when to leave a place that isn’t kind. Newly single isn’t a brand. It’s a context. I write for people rebuilding their relationship with vacation: what feels good, what feels performative, what actually worth the reservation.
Westchester to OC is a long enough drive that I treat the week like it matters. Because it does. Second chapters deserve good lighting and a Plan B that isn’t “sit in the room and scroll.”
What I write here
- How to pace an Ocean City beach wedding weekend without losing the plot - guest-drive reality, weather humility, and a weekend with room to breathe.
- Solo sunset dinner over forty - a reservation-first evening that does not perform romance.
Both come from my second-chapter travel life: choose one good anchor, leave room for the beach, and let the evening be kind to solo guests and couples alike.
How I write
Warm. Witty. Grounded. Romance without cheese. Practical about lodging and evenings—I link nightlife, food & drink, lodging, and events for the heavy lifting, then write the human part: pacing, solo-friendly picks, couple energy that doesn’t require a helicopter proposal.
Lists you can use. No fake credentials. No pretending I’ve chartered yachts or reviewed fifty hotels under a secret alias. Just honest trips, honestly told.
If you’re rewriting your vacation identity after forty—solo, coupled, or somewhere in between—you’re welcome here. Pull up a chair. We’ll find you a sunset worth keeping.
